Anne Morgan’s Smallest Carbon Footprint in the Land and Other Ecotales, illustrated by fellow Tasmanian, Gay McKinnon, has been announced joint winner of the national Environmental Children’s Book of the Year 2014 (Junior Fiction).
Tasmanian writers and illustrators came close to scooping the pool at this years awards, which were announced at the Little Bookroom in Melbourne on 2 September.
Writer and illustrator, Christina Booth, from Northern Tasmania, also won the Picture Book section with Welcome Home, a haunting story about a right whale returning to the Derwent River.
Sally Odgers from Latrobe, was also shortlisted for her picture book, Rainforest Lullaby.

Anne was also shortlisted for the Environmental Children’s Award 2000 with her first picture book, The Glow Worm Cave, which is set in south-east Tasmania.The Glow Worm Cave was illustrated by Tasmanian artists, Belinda Kurczok.
